How Many to a Lane
With a finite number of lanes and what appears to be an indeterminate number of members who would like to bowl on weeks 1 and 2, the Exec have discussed a number of options ranging from 4's to a lane on each week, to fitting how many turn up to the number of lanes available, and many other ideas in between. It was finally agreed that travelling up to 140 mile round trip to be told that there was no room was not acceptable, even if the bowler should have checked first. Also as the closing date for entries is the 23rd then week 1 will have been bowled before we know how many are to bowl on weeks 2 and 3 hence there is no way to ensure that the lane allocations are even without limiting the numbers to a set amount, hence maybe turning bowlers away. However this works out it will be raised at the January quarterly meeting. We will be publishing this lane allocation rule in the Morecambe bowl for all to see before they bowl, and if unacceptable then bowlers can opt to have money back. We will also send the details to the centre reps. We apologise for an inconvenience and possible delays that may be caused by having 4's or 5's to a lane. Bryan Wiggans Trials Official |
