November 2004 with the adult men bowling a further 2 games on these dates. The
meeting suggested that some sort of financial reward also be included in the
trials and requested that Phil Aldersley/Robin Liptrot
look into this.

that letters had been sent out to bowling centres requesting costs etc to finalise a venue.
Replies had been requested for mid August after which the decision could
be made.

Singleton requested that a starter pack be sent to Ian Grundy who was running

Financial report.
Bryan Wiggans tabled the latest financial
statement for those present to read. The
financial situation was as expected with sufficient money to cover lineage for
all the county teams’ events but not enough to assist with the costs of travel
and overnight stays. There needed to be
more fund raising by the separate sections (juniors,YACs
adults and seniors) to put money into there own financial sections before this
support could be provided.
Any other business.
Bryan Wiggans
confirmed that he could put limited advertising on the web site if any sponsors
or bowls wished to promote something. He
confirmed still having far in excess numbers of hits to what he expected on the
site with still lots of new as well as
repeat ones. It was strongly believed
from feed back received that the site was one of the leading types in the
country and read by people far and wide.
A proposal was made
that the county investigate the willingness of bowling centres to participate
in a card system for Lancashire squad bowlers to obtain preferential rates for
practice and bowling. This would
encourage the bowlers to travel to other centres and also help them bowl on
different lane conditions which would help when taking part in
tournaments. MG stated that he would
write to them.
Next Meeting.
It was proposed that if the new bowl at Leigh
had a suitable room and was willing to host our next meeting then it should be
held there. MG stated that he would
visit Leigh bowl and ask after the meeting.
The date would be Saturday 16th October 2004 at 7.00pm
(Post Meeting note – Yes they do have a very nice room and are very
pleased to have us there.)
