RULES.

  1. The tournament is sanctioned by the BTBA. The general playing rules and tournament rules of the BTBA along with the following special rules will govern this event.

  2. This is a closed tournament and is open to all current members of the Lancashire BTBA who must produce their membership card when registering.
  3. All competitors are required to dress in suitable bowling wear. Jeans or denims will not be allowed. Ladies/girls will be permitted to wear skorts.
  4. The event shall be handicapped for singles doubles and team with a scratch masters section.
  5. Bowlers must declare their highest current league or tournaments average over 21 games, which should be ratified by their league secretary.
  6. The tournament manager reserves the right to reject or re rate or reclassify any bowlers average. Handicaps shall be based on 80% of the difference between the entering average and 200 with a maximum of 65 pins per game.
  7. Entries should be in by midnight on Friday 2nd May 2003. All application forms must be accompanied with full entry fees. Send this to Lancashire Area Championships, Stoneycroft House, Chain House Lane, Whitestake, Preston PR4 4LE. Cheques should be made payable to Lancashire Area BTBA.
  8. The tournament manager will be Mike Glover who reserves the right to rule on any point that arises and which is not covered by the rules, subject to an appeal to the BTBA.

    9. Protests must be made in writing to the tournament manager within 30 minutes of the completion of the game in question and prior to the presentation.

  9. A provisional ball shall be rolled in the case of a dispute that cannot be resolved at the time.
  10. In the event of a tie for any placing position the highest last game will count

 

 

 

FORMAT

 

 

The handicapped events: -

Singles (three games)

Doubles ( three games)

Four person team (three games)

 

The Masters Scratch all events: -

The top 16 scratch bowlers from a total of all the events above will be invited to bowl two further scratch games

(previous scores not carried forward). The top eight will then bowl a further two scratch games. This will be followed by a step ladder final involving the top four bowlers.
